yields a very characteristic distillate with a distinctly dark aroma and a strong, bitter, rooty flavour with a balanced and unmistakable character. It is made through the drawing distillation of macerated blackcurrant fruit. Drawing distillation is a manufacturing process during which blackcurrants are macerated in alcohol, and after a specific period of time the mixture is distilled.
