On Friday 16 August 2019, the 17th Jelínek Vizovice Tasting took place on the RUDOLF JELÍNEK company premises. A total of 1,103 samples were entered into the contest in the following categories: slivovitz, pear brandy, apricot brandy, apple brandy, cherry brandy, grape brandy, and other fruit spirits. This year the category with the most entries was once again slivovitz, represented by 504 samples.

Evaluation took place during Friday afternoon. A total of 302 judges divided up into 41 commissions made their contributions and soon arrived at a final decision. Samples were rated anonymously based on predetermined criteria: delicacy, clarity, aroma, flavour, and the persistence of flavour.

The overall winner of the tasting was Jan Šedík with his slivovitz, which earned 19.48 points. He received his prize during the 52nd Vizovice Sloe Harvest music festival on Sunday. The municipality with the best-rated samples was Jílové u Prahy. The winner of the contest for spirits made by RUDOLF JELÍNEK from the contestants’ homegrown ingredients was Mr Radomír Beníček from Uherský Brod with his greengage brandy. The winner of each of category was announced in the evening hours of the tasting day, and winners received a coveted title and valuable prizes.
